Oracle Open World 2019 – Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Sessions

There are a lot of great sessions at Oracle Open World London and we thought we would compile a list of a few key sessions which seem interesting.  If you’re not already registered then the link is here, remember it’s FREE.

1) Running Mission Critical Apps on OCI [SES1227-LON]

This session looks interesting and its speaker Don Mowbary is the head of OCI Product Management for the UK, Ireland and Israel.  Gaining insights from PMs within Oracle is great as they have a deep understanding of the products and how customers are using them to build enterprise infrastructures.

2)  Cloud Infrastructure Genius Bar: Learn More About Apps Migration. Get Answers, Ideas, References [DEM1526-LON]

Hopefully this will be a permanent fixture of the two days at Oracle Open World as there isn’t a scheduled time against this.  At OOW18 in San Francisco they had a similar session and it was really interesting to speak to Oracle engineers who focus on particular technical areas.

3) Oracle Exadata: Strategy and Roadmap for New Technologies On-premises and in the Cloud [SOL1674-LON]

I’m a big fan of Oracle Exadata and as a Cloud Service embedded alongside general purpose compute provides some really unique capabilities.  This session will cover both On-Premises Exadata and also the Exadata Cloud Service.  Again, similar to SES1227-LON this is undertaken by a PM Gurmeet Goindi.

4) Executive Briefing on Cloud Consumption Models and Costs [LHT1804-LON]

I will also be at Oracle Open World so if you’re interested in learning about Oracle Cloud costs and consumption models and how they compare to AWS then check out this session.
