London, 15/01/2025 – DSP today announced its appointment to the OCRE 2024 Framework as the primary Oracle provider for the UK and sole Oracle provider for Ireland. This positions DSP as a key partner for the European research and education community, enabling them to easily access Oracle Cloud services.

The OCRE 2024 Framework, led by GÉANT, the collaboration of European Research and Education Networks (NRENs), simplifies the procurement process for European research and education institutions. The Framework is an expansion of the previous 2020 Framework and is designed to meet the specific needs of the sector. By procuring via this framework, UK and Irish institutions can expedite their access to Oracle's IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings, fostering innovation and accelerating research advancements.

"We are thrilled to be appointed as the leading Oracle provider on the OCRE 2024 Framework for the UK and Ireland regions," said Lee Walker, Chief Revenue Officer at DSP. "This success is a testament to our deep understanding of the unique needs of the higher education and research sector and Oracle technology. We are excited about the opportunities to work with institutions to harness the latest Oracle technologies that empower them to work more efficiently and continue to make ground-breaking discoveries."

The OCRE 2024 Framework offers numerous benefits to participating institutions, including:

  1. Simplified Procurement: streamlined access to Oracle Cloud services through a pre-negotiated framework.
  2. Enhanced Compliance: assured compliance with European and national data handling regulations.
  3. Improved Efficiency: faster procurement processes, enabling institutions to quickly deploy and adopt Oracle Cloud solutions.
  4. Access to Cutting-Edge Technology: use the latest Oracle innovations, including AI to advance research.

Oracle Cloud services are available in the UK and Ireland via DSP, as part of the OCRE 2024 Framework, for all Higher Education Institutions, Further Education Colleges, Research Council establishments, and further NREN member organisations that had expressed a desire to participate, as detailed in the list of participating entities: https://clouds.geant.org/ocre2024entities/

The OCRE 2024 Framework is set to start on 3 February 2025 and will be in place for a period of five years.
