In this series of blogs, we will discuss the idea of session blends, i.e., two sessions that would both be worth attending as they complement each other.
Where do we start with Vectors? There are currently 51 sessions in the Oracle content catalogue that covers Vectors in some shape or another. The challenge everybody is going to have at Oracle CloudWorld this year is trying to understand the myriad of new terms, RAG, Vectors, LLMs, and GenAI, along with the use cases and the services that have them embedded.
A session which is pitched at an ‘Advanced Level’ but looks to cover a good summary of concepts is Generative AI, LLMs, Vectors, and All That Jazz [THR1400]. I’ve seen the speakers Heli and Matias before and I think their presentation style is great, so if anyone can make something demystified it is them.
There are a couple of beginner sessions on Vectors:
These sessions will hopefully get you started and from there, it is quite easy to build on top of that with How NRI uses Oracle 23ai AI Vector search for carbon-information tracing [LRN1083].
This session is a case study, so from the above sessions you can first gain an understanding of what it is, but as with most things, it is more important to see how it is applied. The use case in this session seems interesting but complicated, so just in case AI Vector Search: Real-World Customer Use Cases [PAN2972] will provide a good summary of other use cases.
So you'll have understood it, you’ve seen it in action, and then you can apply it yourself with a hands-on lab: Building Enterprise RAG with AI Vector Search [HOL2973]
I would like to go to this but unfortunately, it clashes with an ExaScale HOL at the same time! I know, first-world problems, but like most CloudWorlds, there will be inevitable clashes with a few must-see sessions.
Look out for DSP at CloudWorld, - I'll be speaking myself, along with my colleague Rene Autunez on Key Use Cases to Leverage Oracle's Multicloud Strategy [THR3380] and remember to follow us on LinkedIn. We publish insight blogs on the latest technology developments every week.
